Most days, Dug will take the girls to school on his way to work. But today, we all walked together as a family.
Daisy's first day of kindergarten, and Molly's first day of second grade. Our school has a multiage program, so the girls are in the same class (and there are other sibling pairs, or cousin pairs, or kids who used to be in there with an older sibling but are now the big kids themselves). Well, for half the day--Daisy comes home before lunch.
I doubt there was much controversy at all over whether the kids at our school watched the President's speech today. Which they did, and which, according to Daisy, was about "always making sure to wash your hands really good*" and according to Molly was about "more than just that, of course, but I don't really remember. It was about working hard in school I think". So there, that's what your big hooha was about, you teabagging freaks. Hygiene and the value of a strong work ethic. Way to distract everyone from serious matters.
*I hope this wasn't a gentle way of breaking it to us that healthcare reform is never gonna happen.
