Or rather, we didn't teach it anything, it just picked it up here and there.
Both girls were late talkers, compared to the other kids in our social group. And Maggie, like her sister, went from zero to Toastmasters in nothing flat.
Like tonight:
Let's put on your hummingbird pajamas.
I SEED A HUDDINGBUD OUSSIDE!
Yeah, we have hummingbirds in the lemon tree, don't we?
WE GOT HUDDINGBUD INNA LEDON TWEE! INNA BACKYARD! OUT DERE, OUT DA WINNOW! LIKE ON MAH JAMMIES! I GOT DA HUDDINGBUDS ON ME! I CUTE! WIDDA HUDDINGBUD ON MAH JAMMIES!
Full sentences, complete thoughts.
I swear two weeks ago, that whole conversation would have gone like this:
Let's put on your hummingbird jammies.
I CUTE!
It takes longer to get the pajamas on, now.

i can't wait for the opportunity to once again only find the negatives in such a glorious milestone. indeed, if they'd only just can it once in a while...

I feel for you. My class thinks I am interested in all their little stories too. Only they want to tell them during a lesson to get us off track. I really don't want to know that Momma got arrested last night smoking weed. I just want to know where she got it.

I know exactly what you mean! Lyli and Scarleht are now mimicking, jeez I dunno, somewhere between 20 and fifty new words and phrases and complete sentences per day. Just a month ago they were eating half as much and saying a tenth as much.
